3 Tips to Prepare Your Skin for Winter!

There is no denying that as the seasons change, your skin can suffer. Our bodies naturally begin to produce less oil and our complexions can become imbalanced and dull looking. The lower temperature and chill of the wind can contribute to your skin suffering from dehydration in the winter months.
On the contrary, hiding inside can be just as bad for your skin! With the dry air (which means less humidity), our skin loses even more moisture than usual. Which can be especially bad for people who suffer from skin conditions such as eczema or rashes. So, how can we help our skin survive the winter months? Here are 3 helpful tips to get you through the harsh climate.
Use Hydrating Lotions
Feed your skin that added bit of moisture! By using a thick, restorative night cream, it will give you plenty of protection. Using a moisturizer that contains shea and coconut butter will help protect your face from low temperatures. We highly recommend Bybi Beauty’s hero product: Babe Balm! The all-rounder has hydrates, softens and smooths anything it touches. Super-firming Coenzyme Q10 is the balm’s hero ingredient, along with a nourishing combination of Squalane, Hibiscus, and Calendula. It’s especially great for drier skin types and any area of the body that needs a moisture kick.
Say NO To Hot Showers!
Surprisingly, you should probably stay away from hot showers. Which, unfortunately, is exactly the kind of comfort most people want after a torturous commute home in the freezing cold weather. However, a hot shower or bath when it’s frigid outside can really dry out your skin and strip your skin of its natural oils. A short, luke-warm shower is the key to happier skin. (Sorry).
Switch Up Your Makeup Routine
In the harsh seasonal conditions, matte and long-wearing cosmetics tend to dry out your skin. By using products such as balms and cream formula’s (tinted moisturizer for example), it will give your skin a nice, healthy dewy look and your skin will thank you for it!
